The collection consists of Litwin's subject files on topics in which Litwin was interested, such as the United Nations and other countries including Israel and Germany, the International Relations Institute, adult education, the penal system and police-community relations, Girls Club, civil rights, business and industry, United Way, Topeka, etc. Types of records in these subject files include pamphlets, brochures, and other informational and promotional materials; newspaper clippings and articles; memoranda and correspondence; and other such materials. Also intermingled in the collection are business records and documents related to the Litwin department stores across Kansas, including plans and architectural drawings, photographs, notes, invoices and receipts and other such financial and accounting records, correspondence particularly with legal representatives, operating licenses and tax documentation, contracts and agreements, and other such materials.
